Why Should Art Enthusiasts Get Involved In Blogging?

By Katie Onson

When it comes to art, as a whole, it's clear that there are various mediums to take into account. One of the most popular, in my view, has to be writing. Not only can it serve as one of the best escapes but one can make the argument that it can work in order to give individuals careers which can last them for tremendously long times. If you want to talk about the therapeutic benefits of writing, for art students and the like, blogging has to be considered.

Before anything else, it's important to keep in mind that blogging has a number of different forms it can take up. Blogs exist for a number of subjects, ranging from social media to food, which goes to show that there isn't a topic that blogging doesn't cover. What this means is that, regardless of your interests, you can get involved in this. Of course, it may not be enough to simply write about the material you like in order to bring readers to you.

From what I have seen, it's worth noting the importance of awareness, as far as certain sites are concerned. For example, Tumblr is viewed as one of the bigger microblogging sites on the Internet. One of the reasons for this is the ability to incorporate hashtags, each of them relevant to the posts they're tied to. Much like Twitter, the hashtags on Tumblr are able to make posts easier to search for, meaning that your work can reach the attention of multiple readers, provided said hashtags are implemented properly.

For others, blogging serves as a journal of sorts for any kind of day. Maybe you had just returned from a baseball game and you'd like to talk about how you felt your team did not have their best go. Perhaps you ran into an old friend at a coffee shop and you'd like to record your thoughts in your blog while they're still fresh in your mind. To put it simply, blogging is meant for a number of purposes and personal satisfaction should go overlooked.

Whether you are someone who specializes only in writing or not, blogging has a tremendous level of importance to it. One of the best things about being a blog writer is that you do not necessarily have to be an expert on words to become great at it, even though such a skill is valuable. You have to be a good storyteller, first and foremost. If you are able to take advantage of this ability, there is no doubt that blogging will have some value to you.
